Opening Prayer

Responsive and Generous God, do You really want us to nag You? You seem to see our persistence as a manifestation of trust and confidence, and not simply as the cries of spoiled children who want our way. Sometimes the darkness, needs and emptiness inside and around us won’t stop screaming! You smile when we come back knocking, pleading and not giving up as we implore Your life-giving power and presence. Once again, hurl Your mighty word to pierce the darkness and lead us in new Passovers to the land of Your promises. Deliver us from doubt, impatience, oppression, disillusionment and darkness.

Therese, you moved to your new home in Lisieux in 1877, after your Mom died.  Your dad wanted to be closer to his relatives and family members.  You must have been both scared and excited.  As we make moves and try new adventures, help us to trust the experience of each day, as you did.  Teach us to live with trust in God’s providence
