Thanksgiving Novena Day Six: Purpose in Life

Words of St. Therese

Photo of St. Therese as a novice, embracing the Crucifix in the courtyard at the convent in Lisieux.

“I understood that love comprises all vocations – that love is everything, and because it is eternal, embraces all times and places.  My vocation is love. It is You, O my God, who has given it to me.  In the heart of the Church, my Mother, I shall be love.  Thus I shall be everything and my dream will be realized.”

-St. Therese of Lisieux

Our Thanksgiving Prayer

You put every one of us here for a purpose, Great God!    Thank you for creating and sustaining me, and including me as a special and unique manifestation of Your Love in our world.   I’m grateful to know that I have a purpose in the grand scheme of Your Kingdom.    My gratitude is wrapped in humility that You allow me to make a special difference in the lives of others.

  1. “Love is something that if you give it away, you end up having more.”

Love is the essence of what it means to be a Christian. God created us with love and His love for us is immeasurable. Love is the foundation of our interpersonal relationships as we are called to love everyone, both those who love us and those who hate us.”

    Thank you.
    Saint Therese.
Your heaven is here on earth scattering flowers of love. I believe you are here now! You said you. Will remain here. In the anxieties of Covid. Help us believe in power of Gods love even when offended or in isolation trusting in Divine Providence.
