Opening Prayer
Jesus, did you toughen your determination as you saw confusion and misunderstanding collapsing around you? Teach us to trust God and the divine fire within, even as our hopes and dreams are confronted by a different reality. You trust the God of Passover within and beyond you. Instill us with that same trust amid the betrayals of our lives. One of your chosen and closest friends loses faith and comes to betray you. You both hurt, and understand. We have experienced betrayal by loved ones and people we have eaten with at the table of trust. Teach us compassion and forgiveness which passes over our pain, so that we can walk wholeheartedly with you through these holy days!
