Opening Prayer

Healing and Freeing God, I am sorry that we pretend to be in Christ, yet live other’s values. I’m sorry for my duplicity. Sometimes religion is words and rituals, not behaviors flowing from the Spirit of Jesus within and among us. We boast of our goodness and deeds, rather than giving credit and thanking You who empowers us to do it. Yes, we continue to need conversion, Lord! We are weak! Help us not to use religion and belief in You to limit any access to You, Loving God, or to exclude others and limit their dignity. Immerse us again in Your saving waters so that all our actions, and especially our religious faith, will lead us to love all Your children. Heal our withered bodies and spirits, and even the withered part of our institutionalized religion which sometimes limits and paralyzes, rather than heals and uplifts. Yes, we need constant conversion, Lord Jesus!
