Opening Prayer
You are frightening, the way You define Your kingdom by the just way we treat each other. God of justice, You are stern! I’m sorry for the way I cheat others to get ahead. I want to be converted and follow Your way, but I don’t like the itchy sackcloth nor a bald head. Isn’t there an easier way? Please don’t treat us the way we treat each other, because the famine will kill and limit us! Come and get me, like Matthew. Call me from my cheating and sinful ways to follow Jesus. I am among the sick ones who need Your healing touch and saving message. Save me, Lord Jesus, and transform me so that Your Word penetrates my heart and changes the way I treat others.
