Opening Prayer

O Wisdom, O Holy Word of God, You come to your people in strong and gentle ways. You save us in mysterious ways. In the strengths and weaknesses of Judah, you rest your hope and enflesh your fulfillment. He is not perfect as we are not perfect. In the generations leading up to and giving flesh to Jesus, we see saints and sinners, kings and clowns, heroes and harlots, warriors and cowards. You genuinely embrace the human experience with all our foibles and struggles. They give me hope that you are coming to me, imperfect and confusing as I am. Your Wisdom is as strange as it is comforting and awesome. Come, Wisdom, be the Word of God for us – in us – in Jesus.
