Opening Prayer
Jesus, you are the fulfillment of all the expectations of Your people, and of all human history. You come from the Author of Life, to give us life, even as you walk through death with us. Sometimes we murder you by the way we treat each other. We would rather touch your hands and feet than touch the wounds of your living Body today. Thank you for the surprising and astounding ways you show up and live among us! You ate of our experience and have made us holy because you overcame all death and darkness we create.
As we eat with you, inSpirit us to share and be Your Risen Body – help us again to reflect on our history and experience so that we can know You as the Eternal God in whose image we are created, whose spark burns deep within, whose Son is our brother, and whose Spirit breathes within and beyond us.
