Opening Prayer

We live in a disposable society, Lord. It is hard for us to be faithful to anything or anyone! Our tastes and desires change easily. You remember our youthful romance, yet we continue to ask what will You do for us today, so that we don’t get bored or lost. We are so shallow, consumed by the bountiful blessings around us. We are empty cisterns because we forget that You are the living water that quenches the aridity and thirst of our hearts. We have been blessed to know You, Faithful Lover – the echoes of our romance still titillate our hearts. Teach us to believe that we have seen, heard and experienced so that our hearts will belong to You!
