Opening Prayer

Holy God, You are the way through the troubled waters of our lives. You call us to freedom. Like a fiery column of fire you lead us through darkness and fear. Help us to trust You. Give us faith to believe that You are our protecting and guiding God amid the frightening and painful transitions of life. Never let us drown in fear or threatening pursuits. Sometimes Your ways are strange, as when Jesus dismissed his Mom and family. We want to be close to you, good and saving God and part of Your family. Help us to follow Your way, rather than presume our heritage and connections can save us. Jesus, help us walk God’s way as members of His family.
