Opening Prayer

You are an awesome balance of mild might and gentle power. We don’t understand how You absorb and balance all these contradictions. But You are God! We know that You work best in our weakness, when we are not competing with You. Give us Your patience with the harvest. Calm us not to be hasty in pulling what we think are weeds. You are the Gardener who judges with wisdom and compassion. Awaken us to follow and listen to You, instead of our self-destructive and dangerous instincts. Created in Your image, help us to be gentle and powerful, without being destructive and violent. Give us the divine balance that Your reign and presence might blossom in us!
