Opening Prayer

Jesus, Your Father, the God of Israel challenged Joshua to lead the chosen people into the land of promise. You opened the way that they might know that You are the living God. Give me the faith to know that You are the living God in my life experience, by seeing the paths You open up before me. You challenged your disciples to forgive endlessly – seventy times seven. There is no end to Your forgiveness of us. Help me to be forgiving, especially toward those I find so difficult to forgive. Help me to be a sign of Your loving, saving, and forgiving presence by the way I treat others this day. Lead us to the land of promised peace. Free me of judgments which confine, limit, and poison. Give me the compassion of Your Heart, Lord Jesus.
