Opening Prayer
My heart is overwhelmed with shame as I remember how You have always loved me – picked me up from despair, made me Your own, dressed me up with the dignity of Your child, and then watched and guided me through puberty and adolescent rebellion. I’m embarrassed of the way I became my own person and took credit for everything which happened to me. I am sorry that I forgot Your parenting love and warm guidance which makes it all possible. You are faithful to your covenant of love, Eternal Love. Help us to be faithful to our covenants and relationships, and not dispose of people and promises just because they are no longer convenient or in my self-interest. Teach us to be like You.
