Opening Prayer

Jesus, Risen Glorious before God, sometimes we are such cowards. We believe, yet we are so shallow! We need a powerful dose of your Spirit of Courage, Wisdom and Passion. Lay your hands on us. Baptize us anew in your life and birthing struggle! Anoint us anew as your followers – the earthly tabernacles of your Spirit. Empower us to trust your victory over evil and to work for your reign in the power of your Spirit. Fill our cowardice with your courage. Fill our emptiness with your energy. Fill our spirit with your Spirit! Shine in us, Lord Jesus!

In 1923, when you would have been only 50 year old, the official Church beatified Therese Martin. It confirmed what millions already believed, that you, Therese, were with the Risen Lord and were doing powerful good on earth, as a heavenly friend and intercessor. Today, humble and inspire us to see the blessedness of people who affirm and challenge us on this journey of life and love. Empower us to be as faithful to Jesus as you were and are, blessed Therese, and see His Face in each person we meet this day.
