Opening Prayer

Holy God, Dear Friend, sometimes You are so frustrating and full of contradictions! You are always stretching our hearts and vistas. Why can’t we treat others the way they treat us? Violence works, You know! You challenge us to transcend our pettiness and to treat others the way You treat us and the way we want others to interact with us. That is an awesome challenge, but with Your Spirit, we will try today. Encourage us again to be faithful ministers of Your Word. Give us the patience, sincerity and love we need in the challenging times. Gentle us to live with the contradictions of nothing and everything, truth and misunderstanding, sorrow, and hopefully joy. Keep us faithful to the struggle today, Gentle, Challenging Friend.
