Opening Prayer

Healing Jesus, we are grateful for the cloud of witnesses that keeps us on the straight and narrow. Thank You for the people who affirm and challenge the best in us, keeping us faithful. Friends, family, ancestors, angels and saints on either side of death’s divide, watch over us and give us courage when it seems like an endless or futile race, or even a lost detour. Help us discern whose advice should influence us and help us not to be manipulated by what other people think of us. Only Your opinion really matters! Parts of us as individual persons and as a human society are hemorrhaging, Lord. We need Your healing Touch. Help us admit the bleeding which drains us and bring it humbly before You. You seek out the lost and seeming dead. Raise us to a new life, just as you did the little girl. We need Your healing Touch today, Lord.
