Opening Prayer

Tender and Powerful Shepherd, you guide us in our pastures and build us shelters as homes. You truly are our Parent and life-giving source. You have betrothed yourself to us, and planted yourself at our side. You are within and among us, closer than we can imagine. Grace us with the openness of Mary to cooperate with you as you continue to plant yourself in the pastures, caves and wombs of our lives. Overshadow our barren cynicism so that we can believe that nothing is impossible with You! We want to be Your servants, Shepherd, Ruler and Spouse. Like David we want to build You a house among Your people, that You might reign forever and ever. But You always take the first step – You always take the best step. Mary is pregnant and Your kingdom is being born. InSpirit us to say “yes”, despite our fears and doubts. Come, Lord Jesus!
