Opening Prayer

I lift up my arms to you, Jesus. Pick me up and carry me. Life seems so much easier when you feel close and I am carried on your strong shoulders. I love sitting up here. I feel like a child. Give me a child’s simplicity and trust so that I can know your wisdom and ways, amid the confusion and complications of this world. InSpirit me that I might believe how close you are and how deeply you dwell within me and our world. You transform us beyond the defining darkness of the flesh into a new power for life and renewed energy. Continue to have dominion, Strong Shoulders, Gentle Shepherd. In your humble, subtle ways, uplift all evil which destroys, diminishes or demeans your people. Yes, Strong One, life is easier when it is all on your shoulders – I feel lighter and don’t have to be the messiah. Thank you!
