Opening Prayer

Holy One of God, even the darkness and demonic shriek and panic before You. In the synagogue of my spirit, where all parts of me connect and gather, let Your Word speak with authority, quiet all anxiety and contrary voices, and free me from all disease, darkness, and despair which possess me. You are the authority of God, because You emptied Yourself. You became one of us to embrace us. You touch and fill everything, absolutely everything, in Your hands. Help us to believe in Your firm grasp, especially when I don’t experience Your control. Let Your fingerprints gentle my spirit and heal me. Let the echo of Your voice quiet and amaze me.

Today in 1889, St. Therese was clothed with the Carmelite Habit. Help us to follow her deeper response to Your passionate and embracing love in the way we live our lives. Thank You for choosing us, God of love. Thank You for choosing me. Hug me, from the inside out!
