Opening Prayer

You are running toward us, Anxious, Embracing God! Faster than we have run away and hid, You come racing after us to enter our hearts and our human journey. You upset our human history and our heritage as You break into our lives. Suddenly we are clay in Your creative hands and You are molding the fullness of Your reign. Keep us awake and alert that we might experience Your fingerprints all over us, and see You breaking out in all the people and situations of our lives. Come, Lord Jesus! Sensitize us to Your present comings in subtle and wonderful ways, so that we might be fully awake in the fullness of dawn You have ignited among us. Make this Advent a time of expectant watching, searching for Your inviting Face.
