Opening Prayer

Radiant and Relentless Light, You shine forever and overwhelm all darkness. Thank You for the subtle and powerful ways You blaze within and among us. Thank You for trusting us to be Your light and salt. Teach us never to create shadows where people live in darkness. Continue to challenge us with Your brilliant, piercing truth that only when we attend to the hungry, helpless, and homeless, will Your light truly shine within all Your children. Only then, will Your victory be accomplished and Your glory shine! Help us to be comfortable with our own fragility and fears so that in desperation we do not judge and imprison others in darkness. Humble us to rely only on Your Crucified Power as our strength.
