Coordinator of Internet Services

The Society of the Little Flower, a faith-based non-profit organization working to promote devotion to Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, seeks a Coordinator of Internet Services to maintain and enhance website function, further online fundraising efforts, and support donor relations.

Job Description

Working with members of the Internet team and reporting to the International Development Director, the Coordinator of Internet Services ensures SLF online properties thrive and evolve, supporting a wide range of audience and organizational needs while remaining engaging, usable and on-mission. Responsibilities include WordPress content management, WooCommerce cart management, multi-channel marketing efforts, and donor service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an online strategy that supports the Society’s overall goals and oversee all aspects of its implementation, including coordination of materials and resources created by our third-party partners.
  • Monitor website function and network with our technical partners to maintain smooth function of the site.
  • Troubleshoot email marketing campaigns and resolve any issues with our email marketing service.
  • Support the efforts of the department team including managing donor relations and donor retention.
  • Assist in the execution of events on the Carmelite Campus in Darien.
  • Alert leadership to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into our other fundraising efforts such as direct mail, planned giving, and all online communication venues including social media and email outreach.
  • Develop and manage the online budget, including website development and maintenance, outreach and promotion, personnel and operations.

Required Skills:

  • 1+ years WordPress experience
  • 1+ years project management experience
  • 1+ years online nonprofit fundraising experience including donation strategy development, content acquisition, and website development
  • Familiarity with WooCommerce ecommerce plugin
  • Solid management experience and track record in motivating and building strong teams
  • Experience enabling strong interdepartmental relationships
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop & InDesign skills
  • A deep understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Faith

This is a full-time position based in our Darien, Illinois office in the greater Chicago metro area. Job closing date: November 19, 2021.

Accountant

Job Description

The Society of the Little Flower, a faith-based non-profit organization working to promote devotion to Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, seeks an Accountant to prepare and process accounts payable, payroll, and employee benefit reports in an accurate and timely manner and assists the Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Post daily cash receipts from Caging Department and updates SLF cash balances.
  • Maintains files of unpaid vendor invoices and open purchase orders. Properly codes invoices for general ledger distribution and reviews all invoices for proper approval.
  • Accepts and reviews miscellaneous cash receipts, determines account coding and forwards to Caging Department for deposit.
  • Enters invoices into accounting system and prepares checks.
  • Reviews payable reports and checks for accuracy and forwards checks to Controller for signature.
  • Collects timecards weekly and ensures that the timecard is accurately totaled and all paid time off has been recorded.
  • Ensures that all timecards have been signed by both the employee and supervisor.
  • Completes a summary payroll report.
  • Enters and posts bi-weekly payroll (SLF) into the accounting system, creates direct deposit file and uploads to the bank, forwards checks and direct deposit reports to Controller for signature and approval.
  • Calculates and processes EFT’s for federal and state payroll taxes (SLF) and 403(B).
  • Completes required pension reports on a monthly basis (SLF).
  • Prepares various general journal entries, as needed.
  • Reconciles various general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain Endowment Fund general ledger.
  • Responsible for maintaining payroll files, ensuring all support is accurately completed and filed.
  • Updates the payroll system with all employee changes, including adding new employees.
  • Tracks employee paid time off, insurance, 403B and pension costs within the payroll system

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a broad-based business environment which includes payroll processing.
  • Computer expertise with Microsoft office and accounting software.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field).
  • Integrity, objectivity and the highest ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communicative (both verbal and written), project management, leadership and problem solving skills.
  • A professional attitude, appearance and behavior.
  • Must be knowledgeable in accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll policies and procedures.
