Opening Prayer

We thank you, Lord Jesus, for rescuing us from the power of darkness. Continue to pour forth Your Spirit revealing full knowledge of God’s will – that we are part of the community of saints – the living temple of Your glory. Energize us with Your Spirit of Wisdom and Insight. Cast Your divine light on areas of darkness within us which limit our knowledge and self. Walk with us on that journey of deeper self-understanding, through fear and self-doubt. Give us the faith to believe that the more we know ourselves, the more we know You, because You created us in the divine image and You make us living tabernacles of Your presence. Just as You sent Your disciples back to the same place to fish again, inspire us to look at the familiar people and places of our life today, and see the abundance of Your presence. As children of light, help us to let go of any darkness which limits us and to cast our nets again. Allow us to catch others in the net of Your freeing and abundant love.
