Opening Prayer

Yes, You alone are God! I’m sorry for all the ways I try to play god and control everyone and everything. Sometimes I’m simply tired of trying to have all the answers and carry everything. Please teach me to let You be God. Thank you for knowing me by name. It is very comforting to know that You are not too busy to notice me. Keep me open to accept the strange choices You make, like Cyrus the Persian as savior for Your people. Give us discernment today about the Church-State struggle. While Jesus’ answer is clever and elusive, it is still hard for us to distinguish what is secular and what is holy. You broke the boundaries and barriers by saving us in Christ. Give us Your wisdom and discernment to know what belongs to You. I am grateful to know that I belong to You!
