Opening Prayer

Eternal Rock, Faithful God, sometimes we get confused by the way You work in our midst. The apostles did not understand what Jesus was saying. He challenged their messianic expectations the same way You challenge our messianic expectations also. Sometimes we want to define and limit Your Spirit – we want to name and claim Your holy city and the boundaries of Your land of promise. With human measurements we want to know how wide and long is our journey in Your holy place. We want to know the boundaries and dimensions of Your presence and how far we must walk. Help us to know and believe that there are no walls, limits, or measurable boundaries to Your heart and eternal, faithful presence. The fiery, passionate and universal embrace of Your love is the only wall of Your city, the Jerusalem of our lives.
