Opening Prayer

Eternal God and Faithful Builder, strangers helped and encouraged Your people to rebuild Your Temple. We get so suspicious of strangers. You can use any and all people to create Your reign. You are rebuilding Your Temple, the Church today. Renew our faith that we may believe that we are the living stones You carve and firmly place in Your Temple – that people will only know that You are a God who cares by the way we care. Prophets speak Your Word and enhance Your creative presence. Purify our ears and hearts to listen to Your prophets today – those who call us from exile to a passover into Your promised reign of justice and peace. By the faithful way we respond to Your Word, make us the sanctuary of Your holy presence, where our brothers and sisters can live in their full dignity as Your beloved children. You make us brothers, sisters, mother and father of Jesus. Thank you!
