Opening Prayer

Demanding Lord, Israel was being gradually conquered and swallowed by enemies because of their lack of faith. Like them, we are so stiff- necked at times. We judge others harshly even as we ask for favorable judgment from you. We are so quick to point faults in others, pretending that we are the model of perfection. Our righteousness is frightening. It is even more frightening that you will treat us the way we treat others. Help us to live the way we believe. Help us to live from the truth of Your heart – the truth we know in our hearts. Free us from the darkness and evil which consumes us at times. Be our Savior, Demanding Lord – we need Your help, before we destroy ourselves and others!
