Opening Prayer

Jesus, Holy and Just One, how exciting it is that You appear to us. Your breath of peace gentles our disturbed spirits. In the crazy, haunting darkness of life, we sometimes wonder if You are really with us. Thank you for eating of our human experience and continuing to show Yourself to us in surprising and simple ways. We should have known! We should have listened more carefully! Why do we keep looking for someone or something else? Forgive the strange and destructive choices we make – when we are not faithful to Your ancient voice echoing in our heritage, history and hearts. Holy Jesus, wipe away our sins, our doubts, our insecurities and our fears. Continue to rise in us!
