Opening Prayer

Light of the World, I love you walking gently yet boldly with the 7 stars and 7 lamps. You are searching for authenticity and discerning falsehood. Be merciful as you look at the duplicity and blindness of my heart. I’m such a stranger mixture of light and darkness – more like confusing shadows. I’ve heard your message, Jesus, and yet I still wander in groping disbelief. Like the blind man of Jericho, I want to see. Be my light. Heal the blindness which limits and cripples me in the way I look at others and look for you! Your 7 lights speak of wholeness and completion. Light the depths of my darkness and make me whole. I want to touch the star in your hand, but I’m afraid it will burn me! You moved to your new home in Lisieux in 1877, after your Mom died, Therese. Your dad wanted to closer to his relatives and family members. You must have been both scared and excited. As we make moves and try new adventures help us to trust the experience of each day, as you did. Teach us to live with trust in God’s providence.
