Opening Prayer

I get nervous about you, Sun of Justice. You are fire which warms and heals, as well as burns and destroys. As you rise within and around me, I want to know what you are purifying and what you are healing. Help me today to radiate the passion of your fire by the enthusiasm and zeal with which I share my gifts and work for your brilliant kingdom. Purge away all laziness of spirit. Teach me to trust in the birthing process of your kingdom – not to despair and lose faith during the painful, disturbing signs. Enlighten me to believe that your temple is being rebuilt within the human experience, where you have poured forth your Spirit. Dawn on me, Lord Jesus. Rise within me, Sun of Justice.
