Opening Prayer
Jesus, do you get frustrated with us as you did with the Pharisees? We continue to look for heavenly signs. Somehow, your love is not enough. We want success, happiness, total fulfillment, and a pain-free life. No wonder you jump into a boat and row away! Our memory is so short; our needs are so present. Teach us to trust you and the subtle ways you work signs and miracles in our daily lives. Save us today from the Cain who lives in us. We sometimes respond to that drive to demean, divide and destroy who and what threatens us and our insecurity. Save us especially from sibling contests and conquests over the people you chose for us as family.
