Opening Prayer

Jesus, You are our Shepherd. You are God’s Shepherd. We don’t feel lost when we see your young smile and hear your strong voice. Grazing through the pastures of life, we sometimes wander aimlessly and get lost. We nibble in meadows of sinfulness and fields of falsehood. We get tired and disillusioned and simply follow the flock. Our hearts beat with excitement when we hear your call – you anchor us in home and call us back to safer and more fertile pastures. The sweat of your love smells so sweet to our wandering souls. Your Word is our nourishment. Your blood is our salvation. We know that God is shepherding and companioning us in you. You are our security, Strong, Gentle Shepherd.
