Opening Prayer
Faithful Father. I’m like both your children. I want unbounded freedom, without consequence. Thank you for being there to welcome me with dignity when I bottom out and wake up to the consequences of my decisions and actions. I’m also like the righteous brother, who can be so unforgiving. I pout because of your extravagant goodness to people I don’t think earned or deserve it. Your unconditional embrace of mercy is so freeing and wonderful, Abba- Dad! You have strong, embracing arms, and powerful feet which trample our guilt and dance at our coming home. You have been faithful, patient, waiting and shepherding us throughout our history. Thank you for being here and embracing me today. It feels so good to be home in your arms.
