Opening Prayer

Do You laugh at our disbelief, Holy One? Help me look for the visitors You will send me this day. Teach me to offer them biblical hospitality. More importantly, sharpen my heart to listen to Your prophecies. Curse me not with the laughter of cynicism and disbelief. Today, teach me again to believe that You can and do work well with our tiredness, old age and emptiness – that You are more powerful than our resources. Give us the humility of the centurion to acknowledge that we are not worthy for you to come and reenergize and heal us. As You do with so many, touch me with your healing miracle of renewed life. Rekindle hope and resurrect the passion of life. Teach us to laugh again in humility and gratitude, at how awesome You are!
