Opening Prayer

Generous God, I don’t want to nag You! I’m sorry that I lose faith in prayer. I’m uncomfortable with my powerlessness in many situations. When You don’t immediately do want I want, I try to figure out how to get it myself or deal with disappointment. I’m sorry that I lose faith in You. Give me Your courageous Spirit of persistence. Help me to trust in You, knowing that You are responsive and will do what is best. In the power of Your Name, help me to treat strangers and those I don’t understand with the same openness and responsiveness You embrace us.
