Opening Prayer

Good Jesus, we want to be like innocent children.  We seek grateful hearts that wonder.  We desire informed minds that seek You.  Yet, our simplicity and innocence gets confused by the misfortunes that captivate our hearts.  Our gratitude and wonder harden into cynicism.  Inscribe our names in Your heaven so that we might be free and shine, and not be captured by the satanic darkness.  Do You punish us because of our evil?  Why do we blame You for all the misfortunes and struggles of our lives?  Give us searching hearts which probe the grief and missteps of our journey until we see them as signs and opportunities to turn our hearts to You!  Please grace us that the detours not distance us from You, but lead us to the joy of Your embrace.

Mary, mother of God, may your rosary draw us closer to your Son!
