Opening Prayer

Beloved Mary, the whole human race is lifted up in you. You are the new Eve, in whom God sees and touches all the best in the pure hopes and messianic dreams of Your human family. You are the model and image of all of us. In you, God sees and embraces the best in us. From all eternity you are purified to become the tabernacle of the Divine Presence becoming human. Your courageous “yes” to God made miracles happen. Help us to cooperate with God like you did, so that God’s Presence and Reign may continue to become enfleshed in our world. Purify us to be open to God. Purify our world to receive your Son. In You, evil has no power. You have transformed us from crawling snakes, cringing in fearful nakedness, to become children of grace, brothers and sisters of the Lord Jesus, and powerful daughters and sons of God. Thank you for remaining unconditionally and absolutely open to God. Trace in our actions the lines of your love. Write on our hearts the openness of your faith. Purify us that we may be living tabernacles of God’s Spirit, transforming the world God conceived and in whose experience Jesus lives and grows.
