Opening Prayer
God of Generations, You have always been speaking to us. You have been acting since our origins until this moment, moving us into your future. Just as Your chosen ones missed the gift of Jesus, sometimes we take so much for granted that we forgot and don’t notice Jesus alive, acting, breathing, hurting and speaking today. We become blinded by the generation of traditions, which embed you in our history and stretch us beyond. As Jesus washed our feet, make us servants of Your children throughout the world. Let them know that You are and that You care by our caring for them and presence to their needs. We partake the bread of Jesus to be empowered and challenged by his Risen Life of freedom. Humble us to kneel only in service to You, and not to idolize anything or anyone else. Continue to be the God of our generation, Jesus, Risen in Glory!
