Opening Prayer

Holy God, You truly are our Mother. We long to suck at Your abundant breasts. You are the milk of life. You are the maternal womb of our existence. Despite the rigidity and deadening traditions crucified to us, You call us to new and renewed life – to be reborn in the womb of Your household and in the power of Your Spirit. Like a good mother, You nudge us from the nest to travel and expand Your reign. Empower us to travel light, without unnecessary emotional, physical, relational or spiritual baggage. As we drink deeply the milk of Your kindness, nourish us with trust. Help us to fly on the wings of Your Spirit and spread the good news of Your life-giving and uplifting love. As Your beloved children, teach us to sing the message of Your ever-present love. Empower us to proclaim freely that You are already among us and that we live in the womb of Your life-giving power.
