Opening Prayer

Jesus, so much happens in and through you. Were you surprised, like everyone else, that Peter’s mother-in-law was cured? Is this how you discovered that God was powerfully and intimately working in you? Did you get tired and drained when all those people came to you for healing? Is that why you ran away to pray and recoup your energy from the Holy One? Sometimes I get tired and drained. Teach me to access the power, grace and energy from you in quiet prayer. Like Samuel, sometimes I hear you speaking in the night. I fear it might be nightmares or projections, but I want to be there for you, Lord Jesus. Help me not to be afraid but to listen to you speak in the darkness and nights of my life. InSpirit me to say “Here I am, Lord”! You are all – powerful – heal my fears! Calm the nightmares of my life so that I can listen to you in the darkness.

Today in 1889, St. Therese was clothed with the Carmelite Habit. Help us to follow her deeper response to Your passionate and embracing love in the way we live our lives. Thank you for choosing us, God of love. Thank you for choosing me. Hug me, from the inside out!!!
