Opening Prayer

Vanishing and Appearing Jesus, it is like you are playing peek-a-boo with us! Your farewell gift of peace empowers, embraces, gentles and heals. How we so much want to hang on to you, instead of accepting your incredible trust of us to live in your Spirit. Enable us to spread wide the saving news of your love, even among generations and gentiles we don’t understand and in the face of misunderstanding and hostility. Give us the courage of Paul and the others, not to be daunted by religious misunderstanding, especially those who take a narrow, restrictive and exclusive view of your presence. Help us to build faith communities among the people you bring into our lives. We are Gentiles, Lord! Thank you for including us among your chosen and challenged.

Today, in 1925, St. Therese was officially canonized by the Church. Give us her absolute trust and confidence in You. Shower us with the blessing to accept the intimacy of Your love, as the Little Flower experienced You.
