Opening Prayer

Lord Jesus, you called your apostles because you read their hearts. You know more about us than we know about ourselves. You know our guile! You know our guilt! And you still call us to be witnesses and proclaimers of God’s reign. You are our gate to God and heaven, Jesus. In you, we are God’s beloved. We are your bride, your spouse. You are the foundation, the walls and the gates of your holy city here on earth. Continue to name us, claim us, inSpirit us, and send us forth to witness to the establishment of your holy city in the hearts of your people. Call us again to be your apostles today.
