Opening Prayer

Smiling Mary, innocent virgin and youthful delight, thank you for listening to the Voice of God, and saying “yes.” How did you know it was God, and not some projected nightmare? Teach us to listen to our ancient heritage that we might be more sensitive to divine whispers today. Give us your radical and sacrificial openness to the Holy. Inspire us to trust and to step over fear. Help us to believe that nothing is impossible with God. Humble us to trust the instincts of our heart and say “yes” – that we might become pregnant with promise. We rejoice with you Mary. We desire to be highly favored like you!
