inter1Through the intercession of St. Therese, the lives of many people have been permanently changed. Her love for us is immeasurable, and her intervention often leaves us with gratitude and appreciation. The following experiences of intercession are examples of how St. Therese continues to "shower her roses" upon us.

“Sept. 15, 2014 my town experienced a massive wildfire burning down 25% of all residences and our Catholic Church. It also destroyed my daughter's home next door to mine. It burned my entire property except my house. It went all the way around my house but left the house intact. This year while praying a Novena to the Little Flower I became a little depressed over a silly thing. We had had huge banks of thirty year old roses all over the yard. They were destroyed. I randomly wondered if I would ever be able to replace them. The next morning was Oct. 1. On my way home from Mass I noticed something pink amid all the rotting fire debris. I walked over to find one green rose cane in bloom. The next day I found two more. There are now 9 seperate rose bushes. My roses are all coming back. A little sign of hope amid the ashes. ”

“My husband and I were married on Oct. 19, 1991. Using the NFP method we waited to have children until we were ready. In 1997, we went to Paris France for the gathering of World Youth Day. While in France we visited Lisieux. Knowing of the Little Flower but not REALLY knowing her. After our trip to France, we decided it was time to start a family. So I did everything I was supposed to do, update all my immunizations, get a physical and all that good stuff. December of 1999, St. Thérèse's relics were making a tour and came to my state, Texas. I went to San Antonio to visit her. It was a beautiful experience. My husband and I began to try to conceive but to no avail, no pregnancy. It was October 2000 when I began to pray the Chaplet of the Little Flower. I prayed for the whole month of October. I conceived the following month. My son was born on July 29, 2001. I love my Little Flower! ”

“After years of marriage, and several miscarriages later, I asked my husband if he would consider adoption. The first time I asked, he said no. A couple of months later, I had a dream that our priest told me God wanted us to adopt. Several days later I got an invite in the mail to attend and adoption class. This time my husband agreed. Still unsure of our decision, I prayed a novena to St. Therese. That weekend, my husband surprised me with a gift of a rose bush. The next night, I won a bouquet of roses and my daughter won a basket of teddy bears. When we looked through the bears, we found one with a picture of St Therese holding a rose. As we waited to be picked, we decided on "Gina" if it was a girl. The night we met our baby's birth mom, she told us she had picked the name "Gina" if it was a girl! Gina was born a few days later, exactly 9 months from the time I had my dream”

“Following a heart attack 9 months earlier, I was having a terrible time with blood pressure fluctuations, weakness and anxiety. We had plans to go to Italy on a pilgrimage in early October. I was scared to go. I had been to the emergency room many times with problems. My Rosary friends were going to St. Anthony's shrine and monastery in Kennebunk, ME. They asked me to come and it was beautiful I had to walk very slow and sit often. I entered a chapel to say a prayer and looked up and saw a picture of St. Therese. I prayed and asked her to help me to know if I should go to Italy. "Please let me see some beautiful roses if I can go. Not puny, but roses that say "Yes!" A few days later I noticed a half dead rose bush in the back yard with the most beautiful huge roses! Thank you St. Therese. Had a wonderful trip and have been recovering since.”

“Earlier this year, my family suffered the tragedy of my cousin becoming disabled in a terrible accident. We suffered the double blow when his sister died tragically 6 months later. On the morning we found out about her death, I asked St.Therese to pray for me to get through this and to do whatever I could for my family. The strength I felt was, I believe , from the intercession of Therese. A week after the funeral, her family kept telling me how they could not stop picking up a mysterious smell of perfume or incense in the sitting room. In the same week, they received a gift in the post from a relative halfway across the world. Of all things, it was a single rose. ”

“I learned about St. Therese in my senior year of college at Salve Regina University in Newport Rhode Island. The professor would do a saint of the day and I was so touched I started saying a daily novena to her just to be in my life. I was single and really wanted to find a husband that would embody my values, shared interests, and be a rock to each other. I said it for over a year and when I met my husband a few dates in he brought me roses and they bloomed huge cups and stayed perfectly like that for over a month. I knew that she had sent me the perfect mate to have a life and children with. I still feel so strongly about our perfect match almost 12 years later married and 14 years dating! I planted a rose bush in my backyard in honor of St. Therese and Virgin Mary. St Therese is my heavenly best friend. ”

“It's more like a communication with me. i was at a church celebrating another saint novena and i suddenly felt like someone is telling me look to your right, i looked at the right side of the alter and i found the statue of St Therese so i said out loud how come she is a patron saint in this church and she is not mentioned! and this year last week i was in mass and again my head got turned to look at some direction, i found St Therese Statue :) and on her feast, i found myself putting her statue at home up in front of everything, then i read about her and i noticed that she was always sad and i feel that she gets happy when we pray or light up a candle for her. she is wonderful.”

“This year I started the 24 Glory-Be Novena to St. Therese right on time, nine days before her day on October 1st, and asked specifically a sign of a rose, which is customary and recommended. Not expecting too much from this petition, but with a heart filled with joy, my spouse and I went to San Francisco and every where I went, I ran into a statue of Therese in many churches I visited just by sheer coincidence. When we returned to Vancouver, on September 30th at midnight, I noticed that my rose bush had a splendorous single white rose in one of its branches. All sounds good and easy, but the fact is that during the previous Summer, this rose bush was infested with vicious aphids and was dying. I was not expecting to survive ... and the aphids were gone. I consider this a miracle from St. Therese -- her companionship through my entire life has been instrumental in my spiritual life. ”

“My husband of 44 years died unexpectedly earlier this year. I have been devoted to St Therese for years & there are many events that were evidenced by her intercession. This past month on the day Pipe Francis arrived I stayed home watching & spending most of the morning in prayer. I was inspired to ask her directly for a sign that my husband was with her. Early that afternoon going forward with a chore I had been putting off, I found not only a container that held my very special Miraculous Medal that I had been looking for for several months but the first box I opened had a handwritten note that my husband had written to me on Christmas the year before. My heart sang & I sobbed in gratitude. Trust in her promise.”

“I was surprised to find that my left bronchial tube was nearly completely closed in 2014. Never a smoker, I was baffled as to what caused this. I had to go to the Cleveland Clinic 4 times that year for bronchoscopies to open up my airway. I cannot tell you how many people, even relative strangers, told me they were praying to St. Therese for me that year. (She is one of the patron saints of lung issues). I was also gifted with prayer cards, statues, pictures, and mementos, all of The Little Flower. I liked to think that she "adopted" me that year. Well, fast forward to this year. I found out my airway was again closing up. The Cleveland Clinic phoned me to tell me they chose a date for my next bronchoscopy... OCTOBER 1st!! The very Feast Day of St. Therese! Of all the days in a year, how is that not a sign that she is still taking care of me?”
