Service

St. Therese taught us to do small and simple actions with great love and care. From writing notes to helping her elders, St. Therese shares that God's love within us must overflow to others. Through her small actions and care for the missionaries, she has become the co-patroness of the missions.

Community

As a Carmelite nun, St. Therese spent her life as a religious sister in a cloistered community. It was during this time that she developed her “Little Way.” She was tested by her fellow sister who often thought she was childish and naive. However, she made it a point to love them as God loves all of us.

Prayer

St. Therese became a Doctor of the Church because of her great spirituality, especially when it came to prayer. St. Therese explained that “prayer is a burst from the heart,” — spontaneous, personal, and intimate — focused on God's presence within us. This has become the Church’s definition of prayer.
