Daily Scripture & Father Bob's Prayer

Persistent God, You do not give up on us. You sent Jonah! You sent Jesus! Give us the openness of the people of Nineveh to truly hear Your Word of conversion and respond by reforming our lives and values. Empower us to fast from judgments, violence, and selfishness which limits ourselves and diminishes others. Free us to reform, not fear of Your blazing wrath, but because of Your trust, Your Word, and Your Spirit You have breathed within and among us. This Lent, I want to change and draw closer to You, and allow You to more easily create Your reign of justice, mercy and peace through me. Thank you for Your persistent faith in me!
