In light of today's Scripture readings, Fr. Bob's Prayer is:
God of surprises and miracles, I need you! Thank you for always trying new ways to love us and break into our lives. Water the aridity of my heart and irrigate the desert places of the human experience. Let your embracing mercy overwhelm our sins and empower us to live from your life-giving strength. For forgiving mercy feels so refreshing! You are the one who continues to shout and echo "Yes" through our human history. Free us to allow Your Spirit to answer "Amen". We need your healing presence and power in so many areas of our crippled lives. Sometimes we are so paralyzed that we won't let others carry us. Touch us, Lord Jesus, and let your healing word penetrate and free us in body, mind and spirit. Your surprising miracles touch every part of us. Help us right now to pick up mats of paralysis from others and ourselves and walk in your freeing light.
